General Surveying
I
am David Michael Phillip Simmonds of David Simmonds
Associates
Building Surveyors, of Kynance, Millards Hill,
Midsomer Norton, Radstock BA3 2UX
I am a Building Surveyor
and I work as a building surveyor.
I
want to assure you that I take your privacy very seriously and I only
process your personal data where it is necessary to do so.
In
order for me to be able to perform my professional duties as a building surveyor, I will need to process some of your
personal data, such as your name and address and your phone number
and/or email address (as applicable). I will also need to retain that
information in case of: (a) any potential complaints or legal
proceedings; (b) for taxation purposes; and (c) in order to check for
future conflicts of interest. I will therefore, because of the requirements for surveyors and their firms to check for conflicts of interest, before accepting future instructions, need to retain your
information: manually for six years; and electronically, indefinitely,
after the end of my involvement with you.
The
lawful basis for processing your personal data is that it is necessary
for me to do so in order to take steps at your request prior to
entering into a contract, or, once we have entered a contract, to
fulfil my contractual obligations to you as a building
surveyor.
I
will not pass on your personal data to third parties. In particular, I
want to assure you that I would never sell your personal data and I
will keep your details safe and secure. I store your data in two ways:
(i) manually in physical files; and (ii) electronically in an internal
database. You have the right to make various requests in relation
to your personal data, e.g. to request access to it, or to object to
processing of it, or to rectification or erasure of it, or restriction
of its processing.
If
you wish to raise a complaint on how I have handled your personal data,
please let me know and I will investigate the matter. You are also
entitled to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office
(ICO).
